What We Do

What Our Pipe Relining Services Cover

From a single cracked section to a fully root-damaged sewer line, our trenchless pipe relining services repair pipes in place, with no excavation and no damage to your property.

A no-dig fix for homeowners with cracked, leaking or blocked pipes. We work around your household, protect gardens, driveways and floors, and get the line back in service the same day wherever possible.

Trenchless pipe relining solutions for businesses, unit blocks and strata properties, keeping disruption to tenants and trading hours to a minimum. We can stage work out of hours where a shutdown is not an option.

We reline damaged sewer lines and stormwater drains, sealing leaks and cracks to restore safe, reliable flow and prevent overflows and odours.

We restore cracked, corroded and partially collapsed pipes with a strong new internal liner. Where a line is beyond relining, we will say so and talk you through the alternatives.

Tree roots are a leading cause of pipe failure in Sydney's older, leafier suburbs. We cut the roots out, clean the line and reline it so they cannot find a way back in.

Before any work, our drain cameras pinpoint the exact fault so you get an accurate diagnosis and an honest quote. Free with every relining assessment.

PIPE RELINING EXPLAINED

What Is Pipe Relining?

The no-dig way to repair cracked, leaking and blocked pipes across Sydney, without digging up your property.

Pipe relining is a trenchless method of repairing damaged pipes from the inside. Rather than digging up your yard to reach the fault, we feed a liner saturated in epoxy resin into the existing pipe through an access point, inflate it against the pipe wall, and let the resin cure. Once it hardens, it forms a strong, smooth new pipe within the old one - sealing cracks, leaks and open joints, and keeping tree roots out for good.

You will also see this described as drain relining, trenchless pipe lining, or cured-in-place pipe (CIPP). They all refer to the same core idea: rebuilding the pipe in place instead of removing it. It is the modern alternative to digging up and replacing a pipe, and for most Sydney properties it is faster, tidier and cheaper.

Relining is the right fix for recurring blocked drains, cracked sewer lines, damaged stormwater pipes and tree-root intrusion. It pairs naturally with our burst and leaking pipe repairs when a pipe is too far gone for a simple patch, and with our blocked drain cleaning when the blockage turns out to be structural rather than a simple clog.

Not sure relining is what you need? Every job starts with a CCTV pipe inspection so you can see the damage for yourself, then a fixed quote before any work begins. Call our Sydney pipe relining team on 0461 330 531.

What We Can Reline
THE RELINING PROCESS

How Pipe Relining Works: Our No-Dig Process Step by Step

Relining rebuilds your pipe from the inside, with no trenches and no heavy machinery. Here is exactly what happens on site, from the first camera pass to the final test.

CCTV Pipe Inspection & Diagnosis

We send a drain camera through the line to find the exact location and extent of the fault. This tells us the pipe length that needs relining, the pipe material and diameter, and whether the problem is a hairline crack, an open joint, root intrusion or a partial collapse.

1

Pipe Cleaning & Preparation

A liner will only bond to a clean pipe wall. We clear the line with high-pressure water jetting to strip out grease, silt, scale and root matter, and use a cutting head where roots have grown through a joint.

2

Liner Installation

We saturate a flexible liner with a two-part epoxy resin, then insert it into the damaged section through an existing access point and position it precisely along the pipe length. An inflatable bladder presses the liner firmly against the old pipe wall, so the new liner takes the exact shape of the original line, bends and junctions included.

3

Curing

The resin is left to cure and harden into place. Depending on the product and conditions, we cure it with ambient temperature, hot water or steam. When it has set, the bladder is removed and what remains is a seamless, jointless pipe inside your old one - a cured-in-place pipe with no seams for roots to find.

4

Final Camera Test & Guarantee

We run a final CCTV pass end to end to confirm the repair is sound, the flow is clear,r and the liner has cured properly. You get the before and after footage, we tidy the site, and the work is covered by our guarantee.

METHODS OF PIPE RELINING IN SYDNEY

Trenchless Repair Methods We Offer

Not every damaged pipe needs the same treatment. Part of being a trenchless specialist is choosing the least invasive method that will actually hold. After the camera inspection, we will tell you which of these your pipe needs, and why.

Sectional Repair & Pipe Patching

Where the fault is confined to a short run - a single cracked length or one failed joint - we can reline just that section. Pipe patching is the quickest and most affordable option, and it leaves the sound parts of your line untouched. Ideal for isolated faults picked up early on camera.

Full-Length Repair

When a pipe is cracked or deteriorated along most of its run, patching one spot only moves the problem. A full-length liner rebuilds the entire line from access point to access point, giving you a continuous new pipe with no weak points left behind. This is the usual answer for old clay sewer lines.

Junction & Bend Repairs

Junctions are where lines meet, and they are the most common failure point in an older drainage system. Purpose-made junction liners let us seal these connections and reinstate the branch line without opening the ground, which is exactly the situation that used to force digging.

Sewer Pipe Relining

Cracked sewer pipes are more than an inconvenience - they leak wastewater into the ground and draw roots straight to the fault. We reline sewer lines to seal them completely, restoring safe flow and preventing the odours and repeat blockages that come with a failing line.

Stormwater & Drain Pipe Relining

Stormwater drains crack, sag and fill with silt and roots, then overflow the moment Sydney gets a heavy downpour. Drain pipe relining seals and smooths the line so water moves the way it should, protecting your foundations and garden from pooling.

Pipe Relining vs Traditional Pipe Replacement

When a pipe fails, you have two real options: rebuild it in place, or excavate and replace it. Traditional pipe replacement methods still have their place - a fully collapsed line with no bore left to work with has to come out. But for the large majority of faults, relining does the same job with a fraction of the disruption.

PRICING

How Much Does Pipe Relining Cost in Sydney?

The most common question we get, and the one most relining pages avoid. Here is a straight answer. There is no single price, because the cost of pipe relining varies depending on a handful of real factors. What we can promise is that you get a fixed pipe relining quote before any work starts, based on what the camera actually shows - not a number over the phone that changes once we are on site.

Relining vs Replacement on Cost

Compared like for like, a no-dig repair usually works out cheaper than excavating and replacing, and the reason is simple: the quote for a digging job is never just the pipe. It is the excavation, the spoil removal, the new line, and then the concrete, paving or landscaping you have to put back. That reinstatement is frequently the largest single item on the bill. Relining removes it entirely.

How to Get an Accurate Number

Book a free CCTV pipe inspection. We will show you the fault on camera, explain whether you need a sectional patch or a full reline, and give you a written fixed price. There is no call-out fee and no obligation to proceed. Call 0461 330 531.

What Drives the Price

KNOW THE SIGNS

Signs Your Pipes Need Relining in Sydney

Damaged pipes rarely fix themselves, and the fault almost always widens over time. A crack that lets a little water out this year is a root highway next year. If you are noticing any of the following, a camera inspection will tell you whether relining is the answer.

A blocked drain can escalate quickly. A CCTV drain inspection will show the cause and the best fix.

Why Relining Beats Digging
WHY PIPES FAIL

What Causes Pipe Damage in Sydney Homes?

Understanding why a pipe failed matters, because it tells you whether a repair will hold. These are the causes we see most often under Sydney properties, and what each one does to the line.

Tree Root Intrusion

The leading cause in Sydney's older, leafier suburbs. Roots seek moisture, find a hairline gap at a joint, and grow into it. Once inside, they expand, widen the gap and catch every solid that passes. This is why root-affected lines block again and again no matter how often they are cleared - the entry point is still there. Sealing it is the only permanent answer.

Age and Material Failure

A great many Sydney homes still run on vitrified clay laid decades ago in short, mortar-jointed lengths. Mortar washes out, joints open, and the line slowly loses its seal. Cast iron corrodes and scales up from the inside until the bore narrows. Neither is a defect - it is simply what these materials do over fifty or eighty years.

Ground Movement and Poor Bedding

Sydney's reactive clay soils swell and shrink with the seasons, and pipes move with them. A line that was laid on poor bedding, or that has heavy traffic or a new slab above it, can crack, sag or lose its fall. A sag holds water and solids, which then become the next blockage.

Grease, Scale and Build-Up

Fat, grease and scale coat the pipe wall and narrow the bore over time. On its own,n this is a cleaning job, not a structural one - but a narrowed, roughened line blocks more easily and hides the fault underneath. This is exactly why we camera the pipe after cleaning it, not before.

We had a blocked drain in our backyard and R&G Plumbing reached out very quickly. Jeremy gave us a fair quote for jet blasting, so we went ahead. Zac came out and was fantastic. When the jet blasting didn’t work, he found the pipe was completely blocked by long roots and a hole in the pipe

Initially, it looked like the floor would need to be dug up for a 1.5 day job$$, which we couldn’t afford. Instead, Jack kept investigating and found another access point through our neighbour’s carpark ceiling. He organised access to neighbours garage, removed the roots, and repaired the pipe at a much more affordable price. The roots were way worse than we expected.

As a young couple and first home buyers, this was our first time dealing with a plumber and we were pretty stressed since we thought it was a simple blockage but it turned out to be a complex issue. I gotta check the drainage when im purchase property in the future. Learnt my lesson!

Jeremy and Zac explained everything clearly and provided a detailed report and invoice so we can raise it with strata, as the drainage is linked to other units and may have further issues.

Really grateful for the honesty and effort. We’ve definitely found a plumber we trust and would happily connect with Jeremy’s team again.

Very happy with the work and the service. Jack came to give me a quote on replacing 4 taps in the laundry and the Abs came to do the work 2 hours later. Everything fixed quickly on the same day. Both young men were very professional and pleasant. I would recommend them.

My sewer was blocked, and as my normal plumber was unavailable for a week I contacted R&G Plumbing. They promptly attended after my call, and temporarily fixed the problem, but indicated the pipe had to be replaced. After being a bit taken aback by the quote, I accepted due to the urgency of the matter. Abs and his apprentice River (2 days on the job) attended on time a couple of days later to complete the job. Both very pleasant to speak to. It was an all day job to dig the hole through heavy clay, replace the pipe, back fill, and replace a row of pavers. I think they did a pretty good job with the clean up as well. Overall, happy with the reliability and outcome, though I thought a tad expensive. I did ask a general question of replacing 2 washers, and was quoted 3 times more than I actually paid my normal plumber the previous week. Anyway, the job was done to a satisfactory standard, and no complaints. Toss of the coin for 4 or 5 stars, but it came out 4 just for the cost - maybe I live in the past.....?

We had Zac@R&G Plumbing attend a consistently blocking toilet in our apartment. He demonstrated strong knowledge, explaining where he believed the issue lay & what he needed to do to diagnose. On confirming his diagnosis he provided a detailed report so we could provide to our strata manager as issue would require strata approval to fix. Zac was professional, honest & worked efficiently, cleaning up as if he had never been. We would have no hesitation recommending Zac for any plumbing requirement & will definitely use his services again in future. Cheers, Paula

Pipe Relining Sydney FAQs

What is pipe relining?

Pipe relining is a no-dig method of repairing damaged pipes. We insert a liner coated in epoxy resin into the existing pipe, and once it cures, it forms a strong new pipe inside the old one, sealing cracks and leaks without excavation. It is also called drain relining, trenchless pipe lining or cured-in-place pipe.

Pipe relining is priced per job, because the cost varies depending on the pipe length, diameter, material, condition and how accessible the line is. A short sectional patch is far cheaper than a full-length reline. We always start with a CCTV pipe inspection and give you a fixed quote before any work begins. Quotes are free, and there is no call-out fee. As a guide, relining almost always comes in below traditional pipe replacement once you account for the excavation and reinstatement a dig job requires.

Yes. A relined pipe is a long-term structural repair. The cured liner resists cracks, corrosion and root intrusion, and with normal use a relined pipe can last for decades - often outlasting the original pipe around it.

Most residential relining jobs are completed within a single day. The exact time depends on the pipe length and condition, and we give you a clear timeframe after the camera inspection.

No - that is the whole point of relining. We repair the pipe in place through small existing access points, so your driveway, lawn and flooring stay intact. The only exception is where a pipe has completely collapsed,d and there is nothing left to line against, which we would confirm on camera first.

Relining works on most materials, including clay and earthenware, PVC pipes, concrete and cast iron. It is effective on cracked, leaking, corroded and tree-root-damaged pipes, and on sewer lines, stormwater drains and general drain pipes alike.

In most cases, yes. Because there is no excavation and no digging and no need to reinstate driveways, paving or landscaping, a liner usually works out significantly cheaper than traditional pipe replacement methods - and that reinstatement cost is often the biggest line item on a dig quote.

Yes. We handle sewer pipe relining, stormwater and general drainage lines, along with cracked, collapsed and root-damaged pipes. If a section is too far gone to reline, we will tell you straight and talk you through the options.

If the blockages are caused by a structural fault - an open joint, a crack, root intrusion or a sag - then yes, relining addresses the cause rather than the symptom. If the blockage is a simple build-up of grease or debris, a drain clean is all you need, and we will say so.

Someone should be on site to give us access and to see the camera footage before and after, but you will not need to move out or shut off the property for days. Most relining jobs are done and dusted in a single visit.
